Lookup Clark County Inmate Records

Clark County inmate records begin with the county jail roster, which lists people in local custody after booking and processing. A Clark County jail roster search can confirm whether someone is held in the jail, but it does not replace court records, DOC records, or federal custody tools. To look up Clark County inmates online, start with the official roster for current local jail custody, then use the jail information line, public-record request channels, WA VINE, Washington DOC, BOP, or ICE when the roster does not answer the question.

Clark County Jail Roster

The official Clark County Jail roster is the first source for current jail custody. It is run through Clark County Jail Services, not a commercial vendor profile system. The roster is free, does not show a login requirement, and displays a public register table. During inspection, entries appeared in last-name-first format with CFN, book date, location, release date, and charge text.

Use the roster for people in Clark County Jail Services custody. Do not use it as a full statewide inmate search. Sentenced state prisoners move to the Washington State Department of Corrections search. Federal custody is separate, and immigration detention uses ICE ODLS. If a person was just arrested, just released, transferred, or held on another agency's warrant, the roster may not be the final answer.

Use Clark County Roster

The Clark County roster is a public table, so the search process is different from counties that use a profile-based inmate portal. The page has a book-date filter label, but the research did not locate a normal multi-field search form or submit button in the text view. For many users, the fastest route is to open the roster and use the browser's find feature for the last name.

  1. Open the official roster at the Clark County Jail Services website.
  2. Use the page's book-date filter if it is available in the browser.
  3. Use browser find for a last name, then compare the full name.
  4. Check CFN, book date, location, release date, and charges before assuming a match.
  5. Call 564.397.4996 if the person may be newly booked, released, or transferred.

The Clark County roster page shows the table format used for current inmate records.

The roster image confirms that the public view is built around table fields rather than a full inmate-profile page.

Clark County Search Fields

The roster fields are also the fields a caller or requester should use when checking a record. The CFN is especially important because Clark County mail rules use that number for addressing inmate mail. Location codes can be short, and charge labels can be abbreviated, so the field should be read as a custody clue rather than a final court outcome.

Clark County Inmate Profile

Clark County's public jail record is not a full profile. It is a jail-register entry. That distinction matters for bond, court dates, mugshots, demographics, and arresting agency questions. Those items were not visible in the roster table inspected on July 2, 2026. A court search, release page, attorney, bail bond company, or records request may be needed for details not in the jail register.

Clark County Jail Contact

The jail information line is the main fallback when the roster is unclear. It is also the practical route for a recent booking, a release that has not been reflected online, or a possible transfer. The lobby is useful for kiosk services and some in-person needs, but Washington law limits inmate records beyond the public jail register.

Clark County Booking Process

Clark County pages do not publish a full intake checklist, but the public process can be reconstructed from roster, release, visitation, mail, and money rules. A person may arrive after arrest, court order, sentencing, warrant, no-bail hold, or other agency hold. The active housing site is the downtown jail. During intake, the person is identified, assigned a CFN, processed for property and money, screened for safety or health needs, and classified for housing.

The public output of that process is the jail register. It lists core custody fields after processing, but it does not publish every operational or medical detail. Cash brought in at booking is deposited to the commissary account. Release later depends on bail, court orders, sentence completion, no-bail status, and possible detainers. Visitation does not begin until the person has been in custody long enough for processing.

Processing point: New bookings may take time to appear, and a person can leave the roster after release or transfer.

Clark County Records Requests

For records beyond the current roster, use the jail public-record portal or the Sheriff's Public Disclosure Unit. A useful request names the person, CFN if known, booking date, incident agency, case number if available, and the specific record sought. Requests for jail inmate records can be limited because RCW 70.48.100 protects many records of people confined in jail.

The Clark County Jail Records page describes the records unit, sentence calculations, releases, and the public roster.

The records-unit source helps separate current custody lookup from requests for historical or non-roster material.

Not every record belongs to Jail Services. Court filings come from the court or clerk, Vancouver Police reports route to the City of Vancouver, and 911 or dispatch records route to CRESA. For charges filed after jail booking, use the court case tools rather than treating the roster charge as the final prosecution record.

Clark County Visitation Rules

Clark County personal visits are online/video only. The county says inmates must be in custody for 72 hours before any type of visiting is allowed. One person may use an available lobby kiosk, and remote video visits use GettingOut/GTL. Visits must be prearranged and may require a fee. These rules are service rules, not roster rules, but they are often needed after confirming custody.

The visitation source is useful after roster confirmation because it explains why a same-day visit may not be available.

Mail and Inmate Funds

Mail and money rules use the same CFN that appears on the roster. Personal mail goes to the digital scanning address with the inmate name and CFN. Legal mail and publications use the Clark County Jail Services Vancouver mailing address. Cash and personal checks are not accepted through personal mail, and mail sent directly to the jail for normal personal delivery can be returned.

County State Federal Search

When a Clark County inmate record is not on the roster, the most likely explanation is that the person is not in current local jail custody. Sentenced felony prison custody moves to Washington DOC. Federal custody uses BOP or federal court and U.S. Marshals channels. Immigration detention uses ICE ODLS. WA VINE can help with custody status and notifications for participating agencies, but it is not a full court-record search.

Clark County Jail Facilities

Clark County Jail Services has the downtown jail and the Work Center in the facility map, but county material says the Work Center has not housed inmates since 2020. That means the downtown jail remains the active local inmate housing site, while the Work Center is relevant for jail industries, renovations, and planned J Pod capacity.

Clark County Service Apps

No official Clark County Sheriff's Office Washington inmate roster app was verified for public custody search, warrants, or most-wanted records. GettingOut/GTL and Access Corrections are service-provider apps, not official roster apps. They can help with video visits, phone accounts, voicemail, messages, photos, or deposits after custody has been confirmed through the roster or jail information line.

VINELink also has a mobile app for custody notifications in Washington. It is useful for alerts, but it should not be treated as a court docket, official jail-register copy, or replacement for the Washington DOC locator.
